CARDBOARD ARCHITECTURE
As part of MakeTank’s continued interest in the collaborative nature of “maker culture”. For this project we partnered with deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum to design and display an interactive sculpture dubbed “Cardboard Architecture” for the museums Artweek 2018 event.The design leveraged the material properties and manufacturing process of cardboard to create a simple, interlocking, three dimensional part which could be connected in various ways to create structures which ranging from small intimate pieces to larger scale constructions. This project was a collaboration between MakeTank, deCordova, Sasaki, and our project partner Abbott-Action Incorporated, an innovative display,packaging design, and manufacturing company who produced the 1200 parts utilized in the event.
